Painting unlimited

Ilike to paint on big canvases. Despite the limits of the frame, it feels like having all the space. Painting in multiple layers and unexpected colour combinations give my paintings that intense and sparkling colour depth that is so characteristic of my work. Although a figurative representation is the most expressive for me, every painting is created abstractly. Initially I only have the broad outlines in mind. Often during the process of creation the images emerge spontaneously and develop into a logical whole. Sometimes I do not know how to carry-on and then I am going to meditate, take a stroll along the beach, sketch a bit, read and study a while or let life itself give me the answers. There lies beauty in the painting-in-progress that sometimes leads a life of its own, where the paint itself seems to indicate when to stop. That is the power of working based from silence. I do really enjoy this tremendously.

Silent mirrors
Especially in my first four collections the paintings tell of a mystical philosophical experience, a story which has deeper backgrounds. As a spectator I invite you to take a step forward right into my painting, to discover the deeper layers and feel the magic. Feel what it evokes in you and if necessary ask yourself questions. While looking at the painting, there is interaction making you understand the painting without getting an answer to all your questions. In short, be open to the power of the image and its limitless translations. It works like a mirror speaking to you.
